Episode #38: Courtney Hansen - 2016 Boston Marathon finisher, race pacer and soon-to-be ultramarathoner

Courtney Hansen, an avid runner in west Michigan who has contributed to MichiganRunnerGirl.com with stories about her races and involvement with Grand Haven area and Muskegon running groups, is fresh off this week's Boston Marathon. She talks with Heather about the experience -- her first Boston Marathon! -- and how Monday's warmer weather led to adjusting her race goals. Courtney, who blogs atrunningthemitten.blogspot.com, traveled to Boston with her boyfriend Steve, who also ran the marathon. She shares how her Oiselle "birds" motivated her throughout the race, in particular the Newton Hills and the course's well-known Heartbreak Hill. Next up for Courtney is the Bayshore Marathon followed by the Charlevoix Marathon (during which she will be pacing runners) and this July's Grand Island 50K, an all-new distance added to the race weekend's events of a half marathon and marathon.
